Our Favorite Winners of the A’ Design Award 2014

A’ Design Award and Competition seeks out the best in design globally and across multiple categories to award the very best designs with their distinguished award. Winners can include concepts or realized designs, with the goal to recognize individual designers and design firms for their creative and innovative ideas, as well as, help them garner recognition for their work. With over 80 categories, the overwhelming amount of talent that A’ Design Award has seen and amassed is staggering. We love just browsing through their winners pages to find new designs.

Here is a selection of some of our favorite winning designs:

Nanfung Complex Commercial, Hospitality and Exhibition by Aedas – this building looks like a giant game of Jenga!


Serel Wave Washbasin It Is a Washbasin. by Serel Design Team – as a parent, I can appreciate the design of this, especially in a one-bathroom situation!


Anti-Loneliness Ramen Bowl-by Daisuke Nagatomo – remember our post about ramen+design? This was our favorite!


Trifold Table, Stool, Trestle, Plinth by Max Hauser – a multifunctional geometric stool/table? Count us in!


Baan Dinner Set Cupboard by Mr. Paitoon Keatkeereerut, Mr.chawin Hanjing – I love this concept of merging the idea of home and eating together.


Eternity Urban Bench by George Drakakis – this exceptional seat allows you to sit in harmony with another person.


Nessie Urban Bench by George Drakakis – similar to his Eternity design, this bench doubles as a giant outdoor sculpture.


Barbecue Stool by Ginevra Grilz – this cute little stool stole our hearts with its colorful options.


Una Side Table by Conor McDonald – I love the unique way the glass is affixed.


Screen House Eco Residential by Hannan Khair – What a great garden and the floating staircase inside is off the hook.


Das Brot. Bread Bakery and Restaurant by Designliga Büro Für Visuelle Kommunikation Und Innenarchitektur – if you look at the floor from the right angle, it looks like it’s moving!


Google Campus Dublin Office Interior Design by Camenzind Evolution – Where do we apply?


Folded Tones Rug by Enoch Liewwe’ve already featured this cool rug, so it was already a winner in our book!


Smartstreets-Cyclepark™ Transformational Bike Parking by Chris Garcin and Andrew Farish Smartstreets Ltd – with more bike programs popping up in cities, we’re loving this design.


Yoshi Bar 2nd Provisional Bar by Naoya Matsumoto – giant bird’s nest, anyone?
