Fleet Ribbon Ornament

Zoe Garred runs Vancouver-based design studio Fleet Objects. She designed the Fleet Ribbon Ornament as a way to use up some aircraft plywood she had laying around. The thin plywood material proved to be bendable and very strong. Once several pieces were bent, she joined them together and fanned them out to create the spherical formation.

One side of each strip is painted either blue or red (you choose the color) and the other side is left unstained so you can customize your ornament how you want by varying the position of the strips. The strips are held together with a tension wire with beads. There is also a ring provided for hanging. When assembled, each ornament is 3 inches in diameter and comes in a pouch.

The ornaments are available for purchase at MODULE R.
