Forming the Border Desk by Juhui Cho

Sometimes we all need a little privacy when it’s time to study or get down to business and Juhui Cho created a self-contained workspace that does just that. The project, Forming the Border – the space in between, helps create a little world for one to sink their teeth into work.

The front doors open, just like a cabinet would, to reveal a personal desk with a bookshelf suspended above to hold books, files, or even a plant. There’s also room to hang a light from above.

The wooden framed desk is covered with PVC which helps construct the volume and allows light to pass through. The PVC also helps create privacy while working. When closed, the translucent PVC conceals all of your work mess. Close the doors and hide the stress of your workday away.

From the designer:

Sometimes I think of hiding in my own personal place faraway from other people’s eyes. I think of my own shelter that does not block the life and space as it becomes my place only if I open the door.

Blue and yellow are subtly used to bring a bit of color to the desk and chair.
