Fossil: Tiles Inspired by Prehistoric Imprints on Rock Formations

Polish multidisciplinary designer Kasia Zareba designed the Fossil tile collection where she interpreted prehistoric imprints of plants and animals that appear on rock formations and turned them into a modern day design on tile. The hand drawn pattern gives it a more organic, natural feel, like traces of the stone’s surface were imprinted by various creatures.

With five different patterns available in a 60 x 60 cm format, the marks run in different directions and occasionally overlap, just as they would in nature. You can get Fossil in three colors – beige, grey, and brown – and you can arrange them any way you like.

The collection won 1st place in a competition organized by Design Tale Studio for Refin and they were just launched at Cersaie by Alessandro and Francesco Mendini.
