The intersection of fashion and design is often a tight one, like this collaboration between Italian luxury interiors brand Visionnaire and high-end fashion retailer Luisaviaroma. Currently celebrating their 90th anniversary, Luisaviaroma commissioned architect Claudio Nardi to turn their Florence shop into an exhibit – Good Vibrations – inspired by black and white. As part of the exhibit you’ll find Visionnaire’s Marty Console, designed by Marco Piva, on display.
Through geometric forms and textures, Nardi attempts to convey the emotions associated with taking an urban stroll. The carpet is suddenly elegantly designed pavement, while window arches become an imaginary theatre. Architecture, art, and craftsmanship from the 1900s connect and flow through the space while paying tribute to the great masters of modern architecture, such as Carlo Scarpa and Giò Ponti.
Hoping to further grow their online market, Visionnaire has also created an accessory capsule that’s available online through Luisaviaroma beginning this month. Sculptural pieces in materials such as ceramic, stone, brass, and Murano glass become bases, centerpieces, trays, and objects that are functional as well.
