Graphic Textiles by NoMoreTwist

Belgian textile studio NoMoreTwist has created a new, 100% made in Belgium, collection of rugs and cushions for 2014 called ‘Histoires naturelles.’

The three collections are available in two ranges of vivid colors, and evoke natural beauty inspired by work of engraver Ernst Haeckel, a big name in 18th century naturalist illustration. I love how the abstraction is paired with figurative images to create a harmonious piece of fiber art.

Lepidoptera
The changing surface of Lepidoptera evokes the moiré effect of butterfly wings thanks to a daring fusion of color gradation with superimposed lines. Lepidoptera pastel cushion pictured above.

Silicium
The Silicium motif is created by the layout of faceted micro-structures whose complex architecture alludes to the mineral world of crystals.

Volubilis
Designed entirely from circular arcs, Volubilis pays tribute to the hidden geometry of the plant world, the aerial oscillation of twining plant stems.
