After working in corporate botanic design for a decade, Greenery Unlimited founders and husband-and-wife team Adam Besheer and Rebecca Bullene wanted to share their expertise with their local community. “We saw the houseplant trend on the rise, but also saw a lot of misinformation and consumerist attitudes that treated plants as disposable décor,” says the duo. Besheer and Bullene wanted to support the rising cultural interest in plants, while honoring nature and practicing sustainability. This explains the durable and high-quality construction of Greenery Unlimited goods, and the automated, low maintenance growing systems they’re known for. Sutton 15 Self Watering Pot
A favorite among the Greenery and Design Milk teams, the Sutton Pot features a patented sub-irrigation system that allows your plant to drink from its roots as nature intended — so your plants are never over-watered again (!!). We love the modern spherical shape of the Sutton and its footed design, both of which are carefully designed to accommodate long, cascading pants and the water reservoir below. It’s made of a high-quality glazed ceramic that comes in 3 aesthetically pleasing finishes: Matte Black, White Dolomite, and Pale Salmon — though we’re partial to the warm tones of Pale Salmon.
Varick 20 Self Watering Pot
Another self-watering favorite is the Varick 20 Pot. The vessel’s slanted design gives it a modern and minimalist look that flatters foliage and flowering plants alike, while the elevated base leaves ample room for the large water reservoir below. The large reservoir lets your plants drink at their own pace, saving you the stress of figuring out when to water (though the soil probe ought to help with that!). Monitor Brass Soil Probe
Here’s something I never knew I needed — this Brass Soil Probe, which helps monitor the condition of your plant’s soil so you know when it’s time to water, and aerates the roots and soil so your plants can breathe. Given the fact that over-watering is the most common reason plant’s pass on (I am 100% guilty of this), we should all have one of these tucked in our plant pots. The probe reminds us that the more we know about our plants (like how their soil is doing), the more attuned we become to the needs of living things — which motivates us to act in nature’s best interest (give that plant some water!). Plus, the modern brass colorway is a great way to work metallics into your décor in the process.
10 Inch Fiberglass Planter Saucer
Designed to catch any excess water that drains from your planter, Greenery’s Fiberglass Planter Saucer is handmade in Vietnam from ultra-durable and watertight fiberglass, and features rubber footers to keep your home’s floor and surfaces protected and dry.
