GUBI Releases New Pacha Designs by Pierre Paulin

Iconic designer Pierre Paulin spent years studying comfort in an effort to create the feeling of sitting on clouds. While his Pacha collection was a few decades ahead of its time in 1975, it’s being reissued today by GUBI. Modular by design, the Pacha Lounge Chair, the Pacha Lounge Chair with armrests, a pair of Pacha Sofas with two to five seats and the Pacha Ottoman give you the ability to create configurations or use each piece alone. The sofas are made by connecting modules with an optional armrest between each pair.

Jacob Gubi, Owner and Creative Director of GUBI, says: “Pierre Paulin created so many iconic designs, it seems wrong that the Pacha Collection has been edited out of his story. GUBI is delighted to reissue this timeless and characterful collection and play a part in building Paulin the legacy he deserves.”

The contemporary curved forms of the Pacha collection were designed to serve the human body with rounded outlines and proportions for extreme comfort. Paulin brought a modern elegance to the robust forms by tracing the foam and upholstery with inward-inclined stitching lines to enhance its shape. The Pacha collection is ready to bring style and character to any space in a wide range of upholstery fabrics and a base in the original pearl gold and matte black.

GUBI is working closely with Paulin, Paulin, Paulin – a family enterprise created to bring Paulin’s unrealized furniture designs to production – to help realize his ambition and ensure his legacy.
