Heymat Launches a New Mix Mat in a 70’s Inspired Color Palette

Norwegian-based brand Heymat just unveiled their latest release – a brand-new edition of their popular Mix mat series. Originally launched in 2016, Mix was designed by Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær as part of Heymat’s inaugural collection. Now Mix gets a new look from colorist and interior designer, Tekla Evelina Severin. The new delightful colorway, called the Mix Teklan, gives nod to 70’s color palettes, gemstones and the Mediterranean Sea with its mix of earthy pastels.

I wanted to create a new version of Mix that feels harmonic and inspiring to come home to. I drew great inspiration from the soft and almost meditative color scale of gemstones.

The Heymat Mix Teklan mat, which comes in three sizes, is made from 100% recycled plastic with an anti-slip backing out of nitrile rubber. They’re super durable and made to last a long time, unlike many rugs and mats that seem to wear out and need replacing after a couple of years. The mats are easy to clean with either vacuuming or throwing them in the washing machine at 60 degrees and then hanging them up to dry.
