Highlights From London Design Fair 2019

We recently went to London for our very first overseas Design Milk pop-up shop! While we curated a delightful and fantastic group of 13 designers and makers who we’ll detail soon, we also wanted to share what else we saw at the London Design Fair that piqued our interest as well.

Chaccra’s handcrafted, contemporary rugs were inspired by Nepal’s cultural heritage.

ZigZagZurich makes all kinds of textiles, from shower curtains to blankets and throws. They’re designed by artists and made in Italy and feel so good to the touch!

FLOOR_STORY works with both young and established designers to make custom handmade rugs.

Filipe Ramos and Lovato collaborated on a new Brazilian outdoor furniture collection.

These ceramics by Korean-based Studio Bomi Jeho in blues, whites, and greys have a trademark folded form.

Studio Altar showcased Vestige_Peru, and their collection of ceramics and textiles inspired by Peru.

Copenhagen-based Flensted Mouritzen’s sculptural plaster objects explore ways of using a running mold machine.

Matthew Day Jackson and Made by Choice worked together to make these Kolho chairs inspired by the moon landing.

Sit Still Studio’s interior pieces are all handmade in Wales and meant to inspire you to be “guiltlessly languid.”

Studio Mutant’s swan would look great in any kid’s room, but we couldn’t help pining for a chance to lie in it as well!

Keshia grew up in Singapore and moved to the U.S. to attend Dartmouth College. When she was living abroad after graduation, a chance enrollment at the Architectural Association Visiting School led to her becoming enamored with door schedules and architectural écriture. She's particularly interested in design for aging, rural architecture, and Asian design heritage.
