Holiday Wishlist: Caroline

We don’t do traditional gift guides here on Design Milk because everyone does them; we like to be different. A few years back, we did staff wishlists and once again we thought it would be fun to continue this new tradition and ask each current contributor what was on their wishlist this holiday season. So, for the next two weeks we’re featuring staff wishlists — see them all here. Here are some modern items on Caroline’s wishlist:

Holiday Wishlist: Caroline

1. Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen
We can file this one under “wishful thinking” but this is the one chair I’ve wanted my entire life. After visiting Denmark and seeing how these chairs are made meticulously by hand, you definitely understand the cost of them. Seeing that just made me want one even more. A girl can dream!

2. Loretta Work Bag in Black
I’ve wanted this bag ever since I wrote about it. It’s a beautiful handbag with storage for your laptop. No need for multiple bags anymore.

3. Dash Earrings in steel from DOWSE
Geometric jewelry always wins me over and I would wear these graphic, triangular earrings every day.

4. Poppin Accessories in Yellow
Nothing makes me happier than office supplies, well, that and a clean desk. Poppin helps you accomplish that with their super fun and colorful office supplies.

5. Eames Hang-It-All in Black
I’ve always loved anything and everything Eames and this is one of my favorites. It’s useful and will work anywhere.

6. sensor mirror from simplehuman
Everything about this mirror is genius – no cord, an automatic light sensor, and the fact that you’ll never have to change a bulb.

7. Harold Hollingsworth paintings
The older I get, the more original art I want to own and from the moment I came across Harold’s work, I knew I wanted to own one of his paintings. This one is a particular favorite.

8. Artek Stool 60 Tom Dixon Special Edition
I’ve always been a fan of Alvar Aalto’s simple Stool 60 design and Artek has been partnering with designers this year for special edition versions. This fluorescent orange one by Tom Dixon makes me swoon.

9. Aaron Ring from the Photographer’s Collection from Bande Des Quatres
Like I said above, if it’s geometric jewelry, I want it on my body.

10. The Impossible Instant Lab
Turn any digital image into an instant photo via your iPhone with the help of this.

11. LEGO Farnsworth House
I’m a lifelong LEGO lover and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Pair LEGO with classic landmark architecture and I’m sold!
