No More Idle Hands: HUHU Pillow Perfect for Fidgeters

Can’t sit still? Do you bite your nails? Maybe the HUHU pillow can help. Designed by cool enough studio, the new design studio of Saehee Her (remember, we featured her Brighten entertainment center), the HUHU might help you sit still.

Although at first this looks like a regular pillow with some tiny flower decorations, the design is, in fact, much more strategic and interactive than that. The woven exterior covers a second layer, allowing for the little strings to be pushed into and pulled out of the weave. Therefore, instead of reaching for that bag of chips, or driving your partner nuts by shaking your leg, you can pop these little pieces of fabric in and out of the pillow instead.

As the designer explains,

The starting point of designing ‘HUHU’ is for encouraging people to get emotional compensation by using the object. Many people have their unconscious / fidgeting behaviour including chewing nails, shaking legs so on. ‘HUHU’ try to help people to be relaxed by pulling out strings from the inner surface of the cushion to play with them. The end results of unconscious behaviour make ‘HUHU’ beautiful. The name & metaphor ‘HUHU’ comes from the moment of people deep breathing when they relax.

So stop biting your nails, grab a HUHU and get pulling.
