ICFF 2012 Spotlight: Nani Marquina

While we were at ICFF, we stopped by the Nani Marquina booth to have a chat with Nani herself. The company, which is celebrating 25 years, has created a special collection this year for the occasion.

I sat and talked to Nani about this new collection, which is a bit of a departure from her past rugs.

Figura Humana, 1948

The entire set consists of artworks by Eduardo Chillida, a Spanish artist and sculptor. Nani chronicled the life and art of Chillida from 1948 through 1995 in seven works. Nani explained that as a celebration of her 25th year, she would celebrate the legacy of this important Spanish artist.

Dibujo Tinta, 1957

Collage, 1966

Mano, 1993

GravitaciĂłn, 1993

GravitaciĂłn, 1994

Manos, 1995

I love this drawing of Nani created by a family member.
