Jonathan Adler x Formica
View Slideshow

Retro chic designer Jonathan Adler has partnered with old school laminate brand Formica to bring retro into modern times. I feel like this is a partnership made in heaven.

The new collection includes three patterns in a variety of fun, Adler-esque colorways from a retro orange to an updated charcoal. The fun patterns are certainly meant to be used in a variety of different ways from countertops to cabinetry to accents like backsplashes. We all know how durable and versatile Formica products can be, so this is a new opportunity to get creative in the kitchen.

I stopped by the Formica KBIS booth to chat with Jonathan about his collection. “There’s something so iconic about Formica. Even the logo is on point,” he said. We chatted about his collab with them and about the resurgence of laminate in the home. It’s an interesting shift from granite back to materials like laminate but there’s so much more flexibility and options in the laminate world that it only makes sense that today’s customer would want something more affordable, dynamic and customizable.
