KOIO Launches Limited Edition Sneakers by Ceramist Ben Medansky

Luxury sneaker brand KOIO brought on Los Angeles-based ceramist Ben Medansky to collaborate on a limited edition sneaker inspired by his signature, handcrafted works of art. The unisex kicks reference his ceramics with calf leather uppers that don tiny grey specks, which resemble his white-glazed stoneware clay, and bold cobalt blue soles, a nod to Ben’s favorite color.

While Ben is well-known in the art world, these sneakers mark his first step into the footwear world and he’s clearly putting his industrial-inspired stamp on it. They’re not just sneakers though – they’re shoes that feature ceramic accent pieces, called “shoellery” or “shoeramics,” made by Ben, making each shoe a work of wearable art. If you want to grab a pair of Men’s or Women’s, you better jump on it as very few were made in each size.
