A Lamp that Illustrates Magnetic Field Lines of Earth
View Slideshow

There’s a reason for the chaotic form that makes up the Field Test Lamp, besides it being a cool, sculptural design. Aminimal Studio looked at the area above the ozone layer, the magnetosphere, for inspiration and illustrated the magnetic field lines of Earth in a curvy, iterative way.

The shade is made of laser-cut acrylic that’s assembled to form its three-dimensional shape with dimensions of 11″ H x 16″ L x 16″ W. A half chrome mirrored bulb is included helping to reflect the light back up through the lamp.
