A Lamp Made with the Help of a Robot
View Slideshow

Atelier Robotiq, a design company based in Rotterdam, uses a combination of design software they developed and a robot that weaves in their first product, the Fiber Pattern Lamp. The software tells the robot what to weave in order to create the lightweight, 3D fiber structures that look a bit like a UFO.

Using an Aerospace fiber winding technology, the robot weaves 100 meters of fiber cord around a form to shape the lamp, which happens to weigh less than an iPhone 6! The open pattern of the shade lets light pass through displaying really cool shadows on the surrounding walls.
