EKDESIGN is a design studio run by Katharina Eisenkoeck that creates furniture, products and lighting. This collection of leather and concrete objects was created using practical research through material experimentation—they’re focused on flexible needs and a contemporary-paced lifestyle while using traditional materials in unexpected combinations with ancient techniques.
Prior to the early 20th century, leather was a common material for the traveler, employed in a variety of objects ranging from flasks to suitcases and armory. Therefore, with this collection, Eisenkoeck demonstrates leathers’ forgotten potential and highlights leathers’ capability as structural reinforcement.
