Lights Inspired by Wood Houses and Mining Lamps

Lamp ZUID, from Çedille by Françoise Oostwegel, was inspired by traditional wood houses and mining lamps seen in the Limburg province in the southern part of The Netherlands. The lamp’s octagonal shape is made out of wood with copper lining the interior.

The copper reflects the light and gives it a warm glow through the Limburg-style oak wood, similar to the ones that grew in Oostwegel’s hometown, Houthem.
