We’ve featured London-based Lindsey Lang’s printed textiles before and now the brand has expanded its line to include a collection of geometric wall and flooring tiles. Lang’s signature graphics beautifully translate into tiles with repeating patterns that will completely transform any space. With five designs to choose from, Tweed, Ellipse, Leaf, Hex, and Scallop, there’s something for every room and every floor and wall surface, including outdoors!
Combining modern day design techniques with a traditional craft, the line covers two finishes, a classic and clean Encaustic finish or the Granito finish, which is a smooth, marble speckled look. Both tiles are handmade with color palettes that range from grey’s, pale yellow, mint, midnight and electric blue.
Encaustic tiles are crafted using an ancient process that was revived in Victorian times. After declining in the 1960s due to the introduction of ceramic tiles, Lang’s goal is to keep the tradition alive. The tile will keep its color and pattern but will naturally patina over time. They can easily be polished back to its original state.
Granito tiles are made using the same process as the Encaustic tiles, but these are reinforced with fine chips of colored marble. The top layer of pattern is made using a blend of pigmented granite and marble aggregates giving it its speckled finish. The durable tiles are perfect for high traffic areas and can be polished back to their original state at any time.
