Love You, Mean It: 20 Awesome Valentine’s Day Cards

It’s almost that time of year where slack lovers are reminded to express their feelings to any and everyone they love. I, personally, like to go less corporate with my love expressions and try to hunt down cards that evoke less syrupy messages, perhaps even those with a dash of humor. Now there are no excuses, because here are 20 ways to tell that special someone how you feel.

The Love Sick card from Dear Hancock could very well make you a little woozy if you stare at it for too long, but I love the vibrating black and white letters that spell out ‘Love’.

Say ‘love’ without having to actually say it – instead, let the hearts say it for you with the Dots and Dyes Card – Heart from Yellow Owl Workshop.

Don’t be shy – just lay your cards out on the table. Just say I Want You So Bad if that’s how you feel. If you can’t, let Gold Teeth Brooklyn say it for you.

For all the computer nerds, like myself, display your feelings with the HTML code that would display a heart in your browser with the HTML &hearts card from Code Cards.

Take the unconventional, semi-subtle route with the I Like Your Face card from Near Modern Disaster.

For your music-lover lover (or your lover that’s a music lover), the Love Rock Ticket, a ticket stub inspired card from a. favorite design.

You can always count on Sapling Press for their fabulous Dear Blank and their I Love You series of cards. Now, take the I Love You and add some zombies (awesome!) and you have the amazing I Love You like zombies love brains card.

Remember when it was cool to carve your initials into a tree to express to the world who you loved? Well, that takes a lot of muscle and effort so Two Trick Pony did the legwork for you with their YOU + ME card.

Here’s another blast from the past… Remember when you made mixed tapes for your boyfriend or girlfriend? Since cassette tapes barely exist anymore, give the sentiment with the Mixtape Card from Wit & Whistle. Let’s be honest, mix CDs just aren’t the same. Fill out your own special mixtape title on the blank tape.

For that inner geek in all of us, there’s the Letterpress Printed You Turn Me On Card from Twin Ravens Press featuring the ‘on’ button that appears on your computer.

Red, white, and blue chevron pattern, letterpressed on a die-cut heart-shaped card, simply saying ‘Love To You’. Love To You Heart from Egg Press.

Show some chalkboard love in the form of a little XOXO action on this Chalkboard XOXO Card from Paper Cup Design.

Check off whichever pet name seems appropriate in this card by Pinwheel Print Shop.

Don’t beat around the bush or anything, say it like you mean it. Lay it all out there with the My Life Would Suck Without You card from letterhappy.

For those in your life who squeal over all things typography (me!), the You’re Exactly My Type card from Red Letter Paper Company is for you.

From their Blank Collection of cards, The Hungry Workshop‘s series features floral illustrations and blank spaces for you to really personalize a message, whether it be really sweet, corny, or downright sexy. So let your mind go wild with this We Go Together Like Blank card.
