Luca Nichetto Turns NYC into a Flexible Silicone Dish Rack

Dish racks have been the same for, well, forever, but not anymore. Luca Nichetto designed Inception, a silicone three-dimensional cityscape that holds your dishes as they dry, for Seletti.

After visiting Stefano Seletti in his office and spotting a scale model of Manhattan, it gave Nichetto the idea to create something with surreal proportions of the city. Inspired by the movie Inception by Christopher Nolan, where in one scene the city of New York seems to fold onto itself, almost as if it was made of rubber, the idea for Inception came together.

It’s not just a dish drain thought – the great thing about it is that it can also be used as a desk organizer to hold your papers or desk accessories.
