Map Made From Handmade Porcelain Plates

Handcrafted by Corbé, The Fifty United Plates Map set pays homage to all the hardworking people (makers, farmers, and doers) all across the country in a collection of porcelain plates that fit together creating a three-dimensional map. Spanning 7 x 4 feet, the set merges newer prototyping technologies with the traditional ways of crafting ceramics, focusing on both materials and craft.

The collection was first introduced via their successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2013 and now after two long years, they’ve completed the project, all in the city of Detroit. With the city’s regrowth and a new sense of local pride, they wanted to focus on being apart of the handcrafted community with their porcelain wares, which are designed for the modern home and table.
