Matrioshka is a system of wooden storage units that nest inside one another designed by Sasa Mitrovic of TwentyTree and manufactured by S.C.S. plus & Ergomade.
Like Russian matrioshka nesting dolls, the largest item holds all the smaller cabinets, which each hold each other and you just don’t know when it’s going to end. There are six pieces in all that happily nest together inside the large orange armoire. You can pull out the ones you need or use them all. I’ll bet this makes packing to move a lot easier!
The design subtly “makes you think about the mystery concealed behind the exterior appearance. It is an object that contains objects and, concurrently, protects our identity,” according to the designer.
Matrioshka was presented during Milan Design Week 2013 as part of Creative Space Serbia exhibition.
