Measure by Fabrice Le Nezet

The Measure series of metal and concrete sculpture concepts from the London-based French artist Fabrice Le Nezet really caught my eye. All of the pieces are meant to represent “the idea of measure” in a physical way.

The metal looks as if it’s being stretched and you can definitely feel the tension in each piece. As the artist says, “The objective was to ‘materialize’ tension in a sense, to make the notions of weight, distance and angle palpable.”

I love the juxtaposition of the brightly colored metal with the cold, natural color of the concrete. The metal looks almost delicate, like spider webs, next to the heaviness of the block forms that it’s connected to.
