Mess by Vasiliy Butenko

Inspired by nature, Vasiliy Butenko created Mess, a lamp meant to reflect the beautiful chaos of various forms in nature. The Ukrainian designer believes that man can only replicate a small part of the complex geometry of structures in nature. Because of that, he decided to create a “messy form” attached to a “strict structure”, similar to a tree or something found in nature.

Using the geometric quincunx pattern for the petals of the lampshade, he was able to hide the frame. I know he calls it Mess, but I think it’s a beautiful mess.
