Mini Golf Gets a Modern, Marble Redesign

Who says mini golf courses have to be 19 holes? Designer JinSik Kim is challenging that idea with One Point, a sculptural collection of separate golf holes made with marble, honeycomb metal sheets, and Bolon flooring. The exhibition was part of this year’s Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition, and the pieces were a collaboration with Bolon, Cuellar Stone and ANUN factory.

One Point explores the essence of what makes a golf course a golf course, pulls those elements, and reinterprets it into a beautiful piece of design. It’s rather like a functional drawing of a golf course, with an added element. One Point has the familiar shapes of golf, but adds a unique, challenging twist due to the height of the pieces off of the ground and the materials used. Graphic shapes and heavy materials create an intriguing contrast, while players get a one-of-a-kind experience feeling as if they’re playing on water.
