Modern Views is an exhibition and auction to benefit the Mies van der Rohe’s 1951 Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois and Philip Johnson’s 1949 Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut. Works donated by 100 architects, artists and designers will be on exhibit online beginning September 7, 2010 and will eventually be sold at Sotheby’s on October 6, 2010.

Among the leading artists and architects who have created works are Maarten Baas, Constantin Boym, Zaha Hadid, Fritz Haeg, Sheila Hicks, Dirk Lohan, Gary Hilderbrand, Tashiko Mori, Inigo Manglano-Ovalle, James Rosenquist, David Salle, Paula Scher, Frank Stella, Al Taylor, James Welling, Richard Woods and many more.

Here are a few examples of some of the art pieces:

If you’d like to help, you can bid at the auction or purchase a copy of the new book called Modern Views available at Assouline. The book is a collection of the art pieces created in the auction. Proceeds of this book also benefit the restoration and renovation of the two properties.
