Architect Murray Barker and artist Laith McGregor collaborated on a project that rethinks the way ping pong tables are made. Monoliths resulted in two massive ping pong tables and benches that turn the functional pieces into sculptural objects.
The public art project was done for the Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) in Melbourne and is meant to be grouped together to form a new interactive gathering place for the university.
The tables are made of concrete with copper inlaid details and bead-blasted stainless steel nets.
