NAGI: A Curvy Chair Designed for Reading or Working

With distinctive curves in a slightly familiar form, NAGI is high-backed chair designed by Tomoya Tabuchi for Viccarbe. In Japanese, the word ‘nagi’ translates to ‘calm water’, an idea that refers to the beauty of water’s undisturbed surface.

The sleek, lightweight structure is made of calibrated steel that is covered in customizable fabric. Attached to the base is a looped steel bar that helps stabilize the chair while adding an unexpected detail. To personalize it even more, the bar is available in lacquered black, white, fluorescent orange, and Altea dark blue. You can also choose to have it fixed or rocking.

The high back supports the neck and swoops down to form the armrests and then down to the legs creating a seamless profile.
