New Coway Airmega Features Clean Design to Match Air Cleaning Performance

With a soothing palette of PEZ candy-like colors, the all-new Coway Airmega 150 caught our eyes from a distance while touring the kinetic smart home section of CES 2020 last week, presenting a compact design imagined to better blend into home decor while performing the true HEPA duties of air quality filtration.

The performance of the Coway Airmega line of air purifiers have been put to the test by numerous outlets, earning accolades as a great option for consumers looking to improve interior air quality quickly. That said, subjectively speaking, the existing line of Airmega appliances features industrial design clearly communicating its purpose, but not necessarily presenting as discrete a presence as one might hope for a large appliance intended to be left out in the open.

With the announcement of the Coway Airmega 150, the Korean health appliance manufacturer has not only streamlined the exterior housing, but also complemented the line with three attractive colors – Dove White, Sage Green, or Peony Pink – aligning with current decor trends embracing color.

Inside, the Airmega 150’s triple-filter true HEPA system is joined by a PM10 Particle Sensor responsible for actively monitoring air quality and adjusting the strength of the fan intake to expedite air filtration. Like other Airmega units, the 150 also offers an Eco-Mode engineered to turn off the unit if acceptable quality of air is detected for 30 minutes, saving energy.

Coway also informed us they’ve listened to customer feedback and improved access and maintenance of the filter housing (as explained in the video above), making it easier for owners to wash and dry the reusable pre-filter. This first of three filters slides out and cleverly attaches magnetically on the front of the unit to dry quicker.

Those interested in the Coway Airmega 150 will unfortunately have to wait till June 2020, initially launching in both dove white and sage green variants, with the availability of the Peony Pink edition TBD.
