New Pieces From Norm Architects Grace the Karimoku Case Collection

The N-SW01 Swivel Chair and N-S02 Table, designed by Norm Architects, are the newest additions to the Karimoku Case lineup. The chair and table were created specifically for the BELLUSTAR TOKYO, a Pan Pacific Hotel, in the iconic Shinjuku district in Tokyo. Other pieces in the Karimoku Case collection can be found at the BELLUSTAR as well, adding an unmatched elegance to all interiors they inhabit.

Karimoku Case, after making its debut at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen in 2019, is known for their dedication to the highest quality natural materials, those that age with beauty over time. These pieces are thoughtfully crafted for the spaces they will eventually inhabit, with careful consideration paid to the constraints of the environment and the needs of the beings inside. Driven by a genuine love of wood and other materials that dot the Karimoku line, they are a leader in Japanese furniture – known for uncompromising production methods and the highest possible quality standards.

Copenhagen-based Norm Architects is a multidisciplinary studio honed by the principles of balance. Founded in 2008, their ethos starts, “Guided by the body and mind rather than by trends or technology, their projects explore ideas that not only look good, but feel good too: Architecture becomes thoughtful, minimalism acquires softness and visual matter assumes haptic qualities.” Revolving around the concept of “re-sensualizing” the built environment, they embrace the ever-present need as humans to be included, autonomous, and aware.

The beautiful grain of the wood base balanced perfectly with the elegant proportions of the N-SW01 Swivel Chair makes for a pretty stately interior. The height of the back offers a comfortable amount of privacy. This gives the user the option to focus individually if needed, or engage with those around you. The chair offers minimal pitch, promoting active sitting and a sense of energy, while the upholstery and sensitivity to form relationship take this minimalist design to the next level.
