We first fell hard for Annika Göransson’s colorful and unique seating back when she was a student, and now we’re equally smitten with her master’s thesis work.
Push is a modern day reinterpretation of a traditional rocking chair. Rather than creating a rocking chair that sits in the corner, Push is a chair that should be experienced and admired from all sides. The foam cushions are secured to its steel skeleton with push buttons, and then covered with wool fabric, ensuring its comfort. The name gives nod to the action of pushing on a rocking chair, and the push buttons that secure the upholstery.
The Alfred storage piece was recently shown at Paris Design Week. It is a new take on storage furniture, where traditional materials and details of Nordic design are challenged. Alfred consists of several pieces that can be arranged in different configurations depending on the user’s needs. It features a light ash wood and leather accents that gains a fine patina after years of age. The cabinets can also adapt — a leather cushion can be placed on top to become seating, or the shelves can be removed to act as one large storage piece.
