Catalan designer Eugeni Quitllet has launched new products for Kartell, including a table lamp called Light Air and a set of vases named Shine, where he explores transparency and emptiness.
The illusionist Light Air table lamp appears to be a suspended light, defying the laws of gravity. The strong, rectangular structure is formed with two pieces of methacrylate, which is the most transparent plastic used in the car industry. The material contains conical parabola within it that helps diffuse the light rays. The Light Air is available in the original version or a mirrored one.
Shine is a collection of vases that are “a game between light and form. An idea beyond crystal.” The textured vases are made of PMMA transparent plastic and are named I SHINE, U SHINE, HE SHINE, and SHE SHINE. The forms, which can only be achieved with plastic, play with light where there is open space.
