Northern Lighting Releases 5 New Lights for Spring 2017

Northern Lighting is back with not just one new light, but five. The Oslo-based brand worked with four designers to achieve the latest round of Scandinavian-inspired, mood-setting lights, including Morten & Jonas, Noidoi Design Studio, Hannakaisa Pekkala, and Yuue.

Say My Name, designed by Morten & Jonas, originally launched in 2015 in a purple color. For 2017, they’ve replaced the purple for this smokey grey color making it more of a neutral option. The handmade fixtures will be available in either glossy or a matte finish, as well as in pendant or table light form.

Noidoi Design Studio’s Meld pendant has a stoneware shade made up of two parts that are pressed, cut, and then glazed to meld together into its finished form. Each shade’s lower part is made in classic off-white, while the top part available in powder grey or dusty blue.

Hannakaisa Pekkala designed Circle, a minimalist pendant with graphic black lines that give it its circular shape. Install one or several in a cluster for an immediate focal point.

Morten & Jonas created Above to be a light you can depend on. Once it’s turned on, the flush-mount light lights up behind its glowing glass disc to shine diffused light from all sides.

Yuue’s Balancer is the only floor lamp in the bunch and its adjustable design creates clean architectural lines when it’s moved around. A simple swivel key allows the shade to rise up and lower as needed.
