Located just steps away from Riverside Park, this existing New York City apartment hadn’t been touched in 30 years and was in desperate need of a major overhaul. StudioLAB stepped in to redesign the 2,150 square foot space to work for a modern family’s lifestyle while also easily transitioning as the family evolves over time.
The homeowners wanted an open plan that was conducive to entertaining and that allowed natural light to flood the interior. Walls were removed to make that happen.
Built-in cabinets were installed around the bottom perimeter for maximum storage and to conceal the radiators.
They stuck with a neutral color palette for the most part with small moments of impactful color. It keeps the interior clean and bright.
The kitchen and dining room were combined to create a more open space. The room keeps to minimalist decor making it streamlined and right in line with the rest of the apartment.
A charcoal stained, built-in cube houses deep storage for the foyer and continues into the kitchen to hide the built-in fridge and pantry.
