Oona Ratcliffe’s Broken Topographies

This week’s CMYLK pairs Colourlovers palettes with three paintings by California-born artist Oona Ratcliffe, whose work is represented by gallery nine5 in New York City’s Soho neighborhood. Ratcliffe’s acrylic splashes of color are actually abstracted, or broken, topographies that begin as pencil drawings. She describes her paintings, which exhibit bold splashes and splatters as “saturated with color areas organized into disparate energetic structures.”
