With the goal of combining several functions into one design that gives birds a place to call home, Katia Tolstykh created Orator, an ergonomic bird feeder, bird’s nest, and a “speaker” to project the sounds of the birds singing.
Made of oak wood and copper, the hanging piece brings a bit of nature to an urban environment. It holds a plant to help attract the birds while also warming up the copper frame. The cone-shaped element lets birds rest and tweet to their heart’s content while disseminating the sounds.
On the other side, there’s a trough that holds bird seed.
