In Oscar Carvallo’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection, Voyage cinétique II, he worked with artist Carlos Curz-Diez to combine bold colors and strong lines together to create colorful couture. They collaborated once in 2009, and have united again to create a second visual and sensorial trip through clothing.
The clothing consists of 35 different looks, where the shapes, prints, textures, and details derive from 6 paintings made exclusively for the collection by Cruz-Diez. Textures include silk, muslin, lace with neoprene, mesh, and even metal strips. Finally, the couture is topped off with fine jewelry created by Cruz-Diez as well. It debuted on Tuesday, January 21st in Paris.
