Our Favorite Picks From the 2019 WestEdge Design Fair

WestEdge Design Fair was literally and figuratively the hottest place to be last weekend (thanks for that LA weather!). We always love being a part of this show – it has the friendliest, most casual atmosphere that makes it fun to discover new designs + designers on the floor. As always, here’s our yearly round-up of WestEdge favorites, starting with our Milk Stand!

beroep|tech came all the way from New York to showcase her jewelry collection. Some of these simple pieces are quite clever – they’re inspired by everyday objects like pushpins and screw nails!

Cindy Hsu Zell stopped traffic with her stunning wall hangings. Her pieces add color and texture to empty walls in such a wabi sabi way.

dconstruct jewelry caters to color-lovers and minimalists with their line of jewelry and clocks.

Jodi Siegal Ceramics was featured in last year’s favorites round-up and this year, she’s part of the Milk Stand! Her beautiful ceramic wall-hangings have a coastal aesthetic as they look like they’re made of shells and driftwood.

LUPA is a veteran of the Milk Stand and once again, she attracted lots of attendees with her bold, structural leather bags. Whether on your arms or on your walls, they definitely make a statement.

LACE by Jenny Wu has also exhibited with the Milk Stand before and her architecturally-inspired, 3D printed jewelry line always stops a crowd. She also has created a ring collection for brides who want a modern alternative to traditional wedding rings.

MGG Studio debuted new silhouettes in her minimalist jewelry collection (you can see one of them in the bottom photo, the black pair on the right!). Her pieces are simple enough for everyday wear yet bold enough to garner “Where did you get that?” questions.

SSEN’s sustainably made, hand-dyed textiles are hard to find elsewhere. Available in pretty hues reminiscent of sunrises and sunsets, they’ll dress up any sofa or bedroom.

Sempli showcased their new Monti-IRI collection of iridescent glasswares alongside crowd favorites. Whether you drink wine or water, these glasses add a contemporary look on the dining table.

Seymour + Smith also came from Canada to showcase with the Milk Stand for the second time. She makes clean and simple reading glasses with a West Coast aesthetic using durable, sustainable materials.

Studio Ford, based in Venice, showcased her line of textiles, clothes, and linens that celebrate the art of block-printing. We love the easy-going vibe of each of her pieces – not too precious and easy to incorporate into everyday wear and life!

Tiny Badger Ceramics’ rainbow assortment of ceramics are inspired by vintage glassware. She debuted new pieces including hanging planters and butter dishes in pastel colorways.

Vanessa Gade Jewelry designs bold, kinetic, and sculptural jewelry with an elegant interplay of angles and curves. Her pieces created simple shadows on the wall, a reflection of their minimalist aesthetic.

WAIWAI, another visitor from Canada, uses leather scraps collected from a local leather maker and upcycles them into jewelry and wall hangings. The use of leather adds an unexpected element to walls and feels comfortable when worn.

Zimarty creates “wearable architecture,” which perfectly describes their jewelry line. 3D printed in geometric and organic shapes, they are perfect for the bold + daring jewelry lovers.

Thanks to all our exhibitors for another great edition of the Milk Stand. If you’d like to be a part of our next pop-up shop, learn more here!

Now onto the show floor. We saw some interesting designs this year, starting with:

Sisyphus, who merges kinetic art, technology, and design to create a show-stopping table.

Graci Studio, who captures the raw beauty of wood and nature in his wall art.

Elements Room, who stopped our tracks with these incredible stone surfaces.

Tidelli, whom we love for their rope and outdoor furniture.

Concrete Collaborative, a forever favorite, for the new colorways of their tile collaboration with Sarah Sherman Samuel.

…this epic collaboration by Amigo Modern, BLDWN, Karen Gayle Tinney, kudd:krig HOME, Pete Deeble Furniture and SETTLEWELL that makes us want to create this space in our own home.

Natufia who showed us the future of home-grown gardens.

Terry Holzgreen for this incredible mosaic of a table.

Avram Rusu Studio for their light fixtures that teeter between art and furniture.

…and Flavor Paper’s unexpected + unique wallpapers that instantly grab your eyes.
