Personalized PEZ Dispensers by Hot Pop Factory

Remember Hot Pop Factory and their geometric 3D printed jewelry? These 3D printing creatives put their head’s together (pun intended) and came up with holiday gifts for one of their clients – personalized 3D printed PEZ dispenser heads. As someone with a PEZ collection problem (around 500 and counting), this idea makes me jump for joy at the wonders of 3D printing and everything you can make with it.

Watch this video to see how they scanned each head with the XBox Kinect:

They 3D scanned all the employees of the company (without telling them why) using an XBOX Kinect, ReconstructMe, and some open-source hackery magic to digitize each one of their heads.

They then cleaned up the scans and did some patchwork with MeshMixer. Additional tweaking was required to make the connection to the dispensers before printing was to be done.
