Projects Watches + DDNKA Studio – Small Biz Spotlight

As a small business ourselves, we like to shed as much light on smaller indie brands and companies as we can. To make that happen, we’ve launched the Small Biz Spotlight series where we highlight small brands we love in our shop and beyond.

Projects Watches Launches PRIDE Watch and Donates 5% to True Colors United

Partnering with top architects and designers around the world, Projects Watches creates really beautiful modern watches that not only tell time, they’re works of art you can wear on your wrist. They combine great design with a hint of whimsy to bring you affordable watches that standout by being completely unique yet timeless. Their newest, the Pride Watch, lands just in time to celebrate Pride Month.

Designed by architect and designer Alex Donahue, the timepiece is dedicated to the individuals that have bravely stood up for the rights of all people, and to honor them, Projects Watches is donating 5% of all profits from the sale of the Pride Watch to True Colors United to support their solutions for youth homelessness that focus on the experiences of LGBTQ young people.

If you’re looking for more colorful watch ideas, we also suggest the Ode to Delaunay Watch, a timepiece designed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie. The ever-changing design was inspired by French artist Robert Delaunay’s 1938 painting, Rythme n°1, and features a circular geometric pattern that’s constantly moving.

DDNKA STUDIO Turns Architecture into Jewelry

Founded by architect Adi Levy in 2018, DDNKA STUDIO creates innovative jewelry born from architecture, art, science, and technology, by utilizing 3D printed technologies and handmade manufacturing techniques. Using advanced parametric tools, the pieces, which are custom made to every size and shape, feature undulating lines that feel fluid yet bold.

Available in size small or medium, the Liza earrings are part of the Kukla Collection, which takes inspiration from the kinetic formations of the Mediterranean Sea. The swooping lines look as if they’re moving, and with each earring slightly different from the other in the pair, these earrings make a bold, edgy statement.

Also part of the Kukla Collection, the Ustavia ring is minimal and sophisticated but with a striking, sculptural presence. Available in sizes 4.5 through 10, the sterling silver ring’s linear wire structure makes a statement on its own but even more so when paired with the Liza earrings above.
