Reform’s UNIT Kitchen Design by Aspekt Office Comes With a Home Office Feel

UNIT is a new kitchen design created by Copenhagen-based studio Aspekt Office for Reform. Most notably, along with this launch, Reform will no longer be utilizing the bones of IKEA kitchens in the U.S., but instead move forward with their own system, which includes their newest STANDARD Drawers.

Growing out of the context of a work-from-home era, the young designers of Aspekt Office created a timeless kitchen design with a subtle home office feel. Textured paint provides depth and dimension against merging materials that include a die-cast aluminum handle rested on wooden fronts.

With its appealing sense of lightness and resilient materials, UNIT is a renewal of Danish tradition, catering the changing needs of the contemporary home. As described by the studio, “Our starting point for this design was research in classic Danish cabinet making with a focus on Børge Mogensen. Back in the 50s and 60s, it was popular to have a well-designed handle. We basically wanted to bring that idea into a modern context in the choice of material, colour and, of course, the design of the handle.”
