The Rocking Verner Makes Sitting A Little More Fun

Sitting. We do it everyday. It’s not the most exciting thing, and Austrian designers Stefanie Richtsfeld and David Schellander wanted to make it a little less boring. Thus, the Rocking Verner – a reinterpretation of the design classic, the Panton Chair. It combines form, function, and fun all in one.

When reinterpreting the Panton Chair, Schellander and Richtsfeld made sure to preserve the timeless character of the chair. It’s made of a mix of naturally oiled wood, dark fabric, and a dark-coated metal. The contrast between light and dark gives it elegance and lightness at once.

Rocking Verner was made as a part of the “Hoffnungsträger” project by company Area GmbH, which provided 100 innovative Austrian companies with Panton Chairs. It was auctioned off for charity in December 2013.
