Samsung My Shelf Frames the Television as Decor

Samsung’s The Frame 4K TV has arguably been the most successful design solution for people who want a television, but do not necessarily welcome the intrusive presence of technology displayed on a surface or mounted upon a wall. And now they’ve unveiled a companion piece for The Frame that further blends in 55-inch, 65-inch and even 75-inch televisions with a sleek display shelf unsurprisingly called, My Shelf.

Available in four finishes – beige, white, brown and black – My Shelf is designed to simplify mounting any of The Frame televisions and “create a tailored wall with personal touches to complement your screen and decor,” with the option to adjust the position to a preferred side or to the center. The Frame shown above illustrates a center positioning, with an adaptive pegboard style modular shelving system on each side and full length shelf above.

The Frame’s My Shelf was also joined by the Slim Fit Wall Mount, alongside five bezel options and a slimmer case just 24.9 millimeters thick, about the same depth as an actual picture frame.

The new accessory was announced alongside an entire lineup of new MicroLED and Neo QLED televisions during the Korean giant’s Unbox & Discover virtual event, continuing Samsung’s efforts to frame their line of home electronics as an extension of the home rather than an intrusion of the decor. Pricing has yet to be announced, but plans are to bring My Shelf “later this year”.
