Scaffolding Range by Hannah Schofield

Hannah Schofield will exhibit her Scaffolding Range of jewelry at next week’s UK Design Event Mart 2011, which is held October 14-16th during Design Event at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. This might be one of my favorite jewelry designs of the year.

The collection of bracelets, brooches, earrings, and necklaces are modeled after our ever-changing urban environment. Focusing on her hometown of Manchester, Hannah created forms like scaffolding and building structures, all in a modular way so that each piece looks like is wearable art. There are three ranges in the collection — Cube, Scaffolding and Tube — all made of brass. Some of the pieces, such as the Scaffolding Brooch, are interactive with hinges so that the pieces move.
