A Set of Tables Inspired by Meter Sticks

The Acco tables, designed by Florian Schmid for Miniforms, are a set of walnut wood tables with a delicate looking, but sturdy base. They were originally inspired by a folding meter stick that Florian left out in the rain, which created a unique angular shape.

The slats of the base were all CNC milled to create a 2D shape, and then joined at the end, creating a tension that holds up the table. The legs are then expanded, like an accordion, to create a wide foundation. Due to its flat look, the base has a fragile appearance. However, it is still strong enough to serve as a dining table. The collection comes in all different sizes and heights, from side tables, to coffee tables, to dining room tables.
