Skäret by Chahrour Huhtilainen A+D

This subdivided complex named Skäret, designed by Chahrour Huhtilainen A+D, is composed of four separate structures that are interconnected by a common decking system. The main building, two guesthouses, and sauna room are purposefully located to maximize the ocean-front view.

Not to mention, floor-to-ceiling sliding windows are littered throughout the four buildings to not only open up the amazing landscape, but to offer easier access throughout the buildings. The sharp contrast between the black paneling and light colored floors produces a clean minimalist aesthetic.

Firstly, I love the idea of splitting the structure into separate volumes. The space not only seems indefinitely bigger, but it produces a natural connection between the indoor and outdoor atmosphere as well. The fact that the color and material of the outdoor decks closely match the parquets on the inside appeals to me.
