Snow Peak Hozuki Lantern 2.0 “Listens” to Conserve Power

Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak is quite popular amongst those with an adventurer’s heart and a designer’s eye. Their original Hozuki lantern was an outdoor light like nothing else on the market when it first came out (I own two of their mini models), an LED light source inspired by the ornamental hozuki plant and one designed to mimic the flickering flame of a candle. The design has since been updated to version 2.0 grade, complete with a new energy-saving Sleep Mode feature which listens in, conserving power when the campsite goes silent.

The updated Hozuki 2.0 lantern design has been restyled to a simpler profile, with a microUSB charging port, a lanyard hook doubling as a stand, and a low battery indicator light.

Available in White, Moss, and Bark, the LED light is capable of a bright 100 Lumens of illumination and comes with a handy versatile hanging hook which works well inside a tent, hanging outside on a branch, or sitting on top of the hook, which doubles up as a stand. If it’s anything like the beloved original version, it’s soon to become a favorite amongst glampers everywhere.
