In Aichi, Japan, is where you’ll find the SUMIYOSHIDO kampo lounge, a soothing clinic for acupuncture and moxibustion. Designed by id inc., the interior is set up like a herbal pharmacy with fresh mint green walls that look like apothecary cabinets, giving nod to the history of herbal medicine.
The stacked shelves are designed with some open drawers to display natural medicine samples, letting patients feel the textures and test out the aromas.
The green color was chosen as herbal medicines are derived from plants.
The furniture is kept the same color keeping the small interior cohesive. The desk and bench are where the patients receive counseling.
The room where the procedures take place is painted all-white, contrasting the green color in the rest of the clinic.
